Carmine's Apprentices
Zephyr
One of the apprentices they took in. Out of the three, she's been their apprentice the longest, but also the youngest. With her circumstances and all, they're pretty protective of her. (The same can be said to other apprentices too, though you're likely to get the worst ass beating if you hurt Zephyr.)
Orion
One of the apprentices they took in. Due to Orion's life circumstances, they've been Orion's counselor of sorts, too. Despite Orion's aloof nature, they also care for Orion a lot.
Lazarus
One of the apprentices they took in. Despite being the newest apprentice, Lazarus has proven to be a very reliable one, both in terms of assisting their research and helping Carmine take care of two other apprentices. He's the oldest one, after all. Despite Lazarus claiming to not want much in return, Carmine has been taking a good care of him too.
Vale
Their closest friend, and their partner.
Cairn
"Wait, you haven't eaten today? I have some extras left for you. Here, eat up. I'm not letting you do this without a meal."
They looked like an old classmate. Though, with how Cairn introduced themself to Carmine with that name, and how they said nothing about their past—maybe it wasn't the one they used to know. But either way, the last thing Carmine would want to do is to pry into someone's past.
Past history aside, they're on good terms with each other, as a researcher and a teacher. With how Cairn sometimes helped Carmine teach/accompany their apprentices, Carmine would treat them with meals in return. Though, sometimes Carmine treats Cairn to a meal just because they feel like feeding Cairn.
Nero
A senior researcher in Twilight island. Despite being on relatively decent terms, something about Nero feels off to them. So, in a secret (even to their apprentices), Carmine has been keeping a close eye on him.
Nydia
Carmine would end up learning about Nydia's existence at some point during the Starless Town events, after her death. She's still alive along with Cairn.
(I haven't developed them much, but they do have some things in common, since they're both researchers)
Infodump / Spitballing
- they first started off as a stoic character. though a lot of starless town characters i've created are sorta stoic/aloof too. so i made them friendlier :D
- a good chef. cairn can confirm this (along with carmine's apprentices)
- uses ice and blue fire magic
- the fire is blue mainly because of aesthetic. though from my understanding of fires, it'd be funny if their fire magic is pretty much "fire but VERY HOT LIKE THEY ONLY USE IT IF THEY WANT SOMEONE DEAD"
- working as a researcher in Twilight island pays you enough for you to take care of 3 apprentices and have decent hair care routine.
- i still can't get over this friend immediately asking about carmine's hair care routine. this one's to that buddy
- they're focused on researches relating to magic usage
