Undead Situation
They're pretty much a human who was sewn back to life. Who even brought them back to life in the first place? They couldn't even recall anything, and they couldn't find much clues about their past life either.
Their body pretty much functions like an ordinary human.

Lore
They were first found as a young undead with no memories, except for trying to escape from something. They're later taken in by their family.
During their time with their family, they had always been the distant and detached one who wasn't very close to other family members. Their interest towards death was something that put them off in front of the rest of their family, and after an incident involving one of their very few friends, it only intensified—and eventually developed into an interest in necromancy.
At one point, they met the Death God who personally saved them from a brink of death. The Death God then became their spirit guardian figure of sorts, and eventually invited Deswyn to the Souls Society. And their roommate/housemate there was Valei themself.
Relationships
Valei
A housemate in Souls Society, whom he thought their meeting was a mere chance at first. But the more he spent time with them, the more being around Valei felt natural—like they had always been partners of sorts.
One of the very few people Deswyn feels at ease around, not really on edge around them compared to the others.

- Less sensitivity to pain than average.
- Starts wearing the butterfly mask after living in Souls Society. Think of it as more of a magical mask (that can disappear at will + he can see through it despite having no eye holes) rather than a solid, physical mask.
- His appearance was pretty unkept before travelling to Souls Society. The braid part is inspired by Valei :D
